This Easter weekend has been one filled with purpose, reflection, and the kind of simple joys that remind me what truly matters.
It all began on Thursday, delivering sweet Easter gifts to our patients at the hospital in Ballinger. There’s something so special about sharing a little extra kindness during the holidays—seeing smiles, offering comfort, and spreading a bit of cheer to those who may need it most.
Good Friday brought a quieter, more reflective moment. Like many Christians, I took time to remember the ultimate gift God gave us so many years ago. It’s a humbling pause in the middle of a busy life—one that gently reminds me of grace, sacrifice, and love beyond measure.
Today was for making memories. A quick road trip with my mom turned into one of those moments you wish you could bottle up—simple, meaningful, and filled with love. These are the times that remind me how important it is to slow down and truly be present with the people who matter most.
Back at home, the kitchen called my name as I prepared for Easter Sunday at my kids’ house. With dietary restrictions guiding the menu, this year brought a new challenge—my first attempt at dairy-free Meyer lemon meringue pie and chocolate meringue pie. What used to be a long-standing Easter tradition had quietly turned into a bit of a meringue pie drought over the years. But today, I brought it back—just in a new way. I can’t wait to share it all with my family tomorrow, especially my sweet granddaughter.

Now, as I sit on the porch after a much-needed rain, I’m surrounded by reminders of God’s continued blessings. The trees are greener, the grass is fuller, and the world feels freshly washed. Birds sing, squirrels dart about, and deer move gently through the woods—it feels like a scene straight out of a Disney movie playing right before my eyes.
Beside me sits my best friend—my husband—and together we dream out loud. We talk about places we want to visit, projects we want to take on, and the joy that lies ahead. One of the sweetest thoughts? Watching little J hunt Easter eggs for the very first time. Moments like these are the ones that turn into lifelong memories.
This weekend hasn’t been about grand plans or perfect schedules. It’s been about faith, family, and finding beauty in the everyday.
And that, to me, is what makes it truly blessed.
Happy Easter
