Wild About the Gap | Look Up

Sometimes life has a funny way of making us look down.

Down at the bills.
Down at the problems.
Down at the things that didn’t go the way we planned.
Down at the next thing on the never-ending to-do list.

But today, I was reminded that sometimes we just need to look up.

Today’s Sunday sky is putting on quite a show. A vibrant blue backdrop scattered with fluffy little puffs of white that look like giant marshmallows floating overhead.

And somehow, the trees seem even greener against that blue sky. The birds are busy fluttering from tree to feeder and back again, completely unbothered by whatever the world thinks it needs to hurry about.

Then, one by one, the deer start appearing. A cold drink. A little brunch. A quiet pause in their day… and then off they go.

Watching it all makes me think maybe we spend too much time looking down at life when there is so much beauty waiting above us.

Sometimes you don’t need to fix everything.

Sometimes you just need to stop.

Take a breath.

Look up.

And remember that there is still beauty all around you.

Life will always give us reasons to look down.
So today, I’m choosing to look up.
