A New Addition

There are moments in life when a dream you’ve carried for years finally comes true. This past weekend was one of those moments for me.

My fabulous husband and life adventure partner loaded me up and took me on a road trip to East Texas to pick out my dream cat. For the past 15 years, I have been fascinated by Maine Coons. Everything about them amazes me—their majestic appearance, their intelligence, their playful nature, and their larger-than-life personalities. I have admired them from afar for years, wondering if someday one would become part of our family.

Well, someday finally arrived.

Our journey led us to meet Kelly, my fantastic cat dealer, whose Maine Coons are absolutely stunning. Every kitten seemed more beautiful than the last. Their fluffy coats, enormous ears, and sweet little faces made choosing just one nearly impossible. I wanted to bring them all home!

But somehow, we managed to make a decision.

We are now the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl who has completely stolen our hearts. Her looks are breathtaking and truly one of a kind, but what has amazed me most is her personality.

After only a few days, she acts as though she’s always belonged here. She follows us from room to room, wanting to be wherever we are. At night, she curls up between our pillows and sleeps peacefully, as if she’s been doing it her whole life. She’s affectionate, curious, playful, and incredibly sweet.

It’s amazing how quickly a tiny bundle of fur can become such a big part of your heart.

As I watch her explore her new world, chase imaginary creatures across the floor, and snuggle close whenever she gets the chance, I can’t help but smile. Sometimes the things we wait the longest for turn out to be even better than we imagined.

Our new addition has already brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our home. And if these first few days are any indication, I have a feeling this beautiful little Maine Coon is about to take us on one incredible adventure.

And honestly, I can’t wait to see where it leads.
